Direct taxes are taxes that people or businesses pay straight to the government based on their income or wealth. There are no middlemen involved; the taxpayer pays the tax directly.
Taxes you can pay on Income Tax portal:
- Advance Tax
- Self-Assessment Tax
- 26QB/QC (TDS on Sale of Property & Rent of Property)
- Other TDS
- Equalisation Levy/ STT/ CTT
- Fess & Other Payments (Wealth Tax, Fringe Benefit Tax, etc)
Documents Required for Calculating Direct Tax Payments:
To ensure accurate tax calculation and timely payment, make sure to have the following documents ready:
- Form 16: Issued by employer, this details your salary and TDS or the financial year.
- Salary Slip: A record of your earnings, deductions, and net salary for tax computation.
- Interest Certificates: Obtain interest certificates from banks or post offices to account for any taxable interest income.
- Tax-Saving Investment Proofs: Documents for tax-saving investments under sections like EPF, PPF, Life Insurance Premiums etc.
- Health Insurance Premium Receipts: Proof of premiums paid for self and dependents for claiming deductions under Section 80D.
- Proof of Capital Gains: Documents detailing any profits from the sale of assets such as stocks, mutual funds, or property.
- Aadhaar and PAN Card: Essential identification documents required for filing and verifying tax details.
Having these documents handy ensures a smooth and accurate tax payment process.
How to pay Direct Taxes through RBL Bank via Internet Banking?
- Login to Income Tax e-filing Portal
- Go to E-file > E-Pay tax > New Payment > Select the type of Tax payment & Fill Details
- Select Net Banking > Others > RBL Bank
- Log in to RBL Bank Internet banking & Complete Payment
You will be redirected to Income Tax portal upon completing the payment where you can download the payment challan.

How to pay Direct Taxes through RBL Bank Branch via Pay at Bank Counter?
- Login to Income Tax e-filing Portal
- E-file > E-Pay tax > New Payment > Select the type of tax payment & Fill Details
- Select Pay at Bank Counter > Cash/ Cheque/ Demand Draft
- Download challan & pay at your nearest RBL Bank Branch
You will have to login to Income Tax portal after submitting challan in RBL Bank Branch where you can download the payment challan.

- Login to the e-Filing portal
- Click on "e-Pay Tax"
- Click on "Challan Status Enquiry (.CSI) File"
- Click on "Filter" and download the challan receipt

- Login to the “e-filing portal”
