Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme
PMEGP is central government scheme administered by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Mo MSME). The scheme is implemented by Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC) functioning as the nodal agency at the national level. At the state level, the scheme is implemented through State KVIC Directorate, State Khadi & Village Industries Boards (KVIBs), District Industries Centre (DICs), and Coir Board, knows as implementing agencies.

Funding opportunities available for new unit/project or upgradation of existing unit.

Capital Subsidy – 15% to 35 % on project cost as per location & category

Prepayment facility available for customers

Projects without capital expenditure are not eligible

Cost of land not included in Project Report

Repayment schedule may range between 3 to 7 years after an initial moratorium period

Bank finance is available at 90% for general category and 95% in case of special category of the beneficiary

Beneficiary margin ranges from 5% to 10% depending on category and location of the unit

Any individual, above 18 years of age

No income ceiling for assistance

Applicant should engage in Manufacturing, Service or Trading activity

Only one person from one family is eligible

Should possess at least VIII standard pass educational qualification for setting up of projects costing above INR 10 lakh in Manufacturing sector and above INR 5 lakh in Business/Service Sector

- Online application form to be submitted through https://www.kviconline.gov.in
- Applicant's Aadhaar number is mandatory and is authenticated with UIDAI database before they proceed for filing the application
- KYC of applicant
- Statutory Permission/License/ Udyam Registration Certificate etc.,
- Original quotations for the machinery/equipment/vehicle propose to be purchase
- Any other documents as per the scheme guidelines and bank’s assessment practices
