RBL Bank Namma Metro NCMC is a prepaid financial instrument that allows users to spend a set amount of money as loaded onto the card. The card is supported by the Rupay platform and can be used at all NCMC compliant metro stations, merchant locations, and e-commerce sites that accept these types of cards. The card is issued in accordance with regulations set by the Reserve Bank of India.
No, RBL Bank Prepaid Card can be loaded in INR and can be used only in India.
Customer would need to provide mobile number verified with One Time Password (OTP) and a self-declaration of name and unique identity / identification number of any ‘Officially Valid Document (OVD)’.

RBL Bank Namma Metro Card is first transit card offering integrated single wallet that supports regular payments across retail outlets as well as contactless payments (Tap & Pay) across metro in India. The card offers integrated services to the commuters by offering them cashless metro travel and also offers shopping experience at merchant outlets, without the hassle of carrying multiple cards. This initiative is in support of the Ministry of Urban Development’s vision to address the need of Common Mobility Card.
You may only own one card on your name/mobile number. There would be no need to own multiple cards since one RBL Bank Namma Metro Card can be used for all your travel and purchase requirements.

The RBL Bank Namma Metro Card is instantly issued to the customer at Bangalore Metro Stations and RBL Bank Bangalore branches on submission of the required details – Name, Mobile number, OVD (Driving Licence, Voter Card, Passport, PAN).
RBL Bank Namma Metro card is valid until the last day of the month of the year indicated on the card. If your card is nearing its expiry date, then you can visit the nearest RBL Branch/Metro stations issuance counter and get a new card (with new number).
Yes, however, you can set your PIN immediately after purchasing the card from the mobile app/web portal.
A prepaid card with no financial transaction for a period of one year shall be made/treated as inactive after sending a notification to the prepaid cardholder. It can be reactivated only after validation and applicable due diligence. The money on the card if any can be used after activating the inactive card.
Yes, you can top up/reload/replenish the card balance before it exhausts, so as to make seamless contactless payments.
Card balance can be topped up via “Money Add” channels, which can be done in following ways:
Money Add Cash - You may approach a transit point (TOM Counter) or nearby RBL Branch to top up the card balance (money load transaction). You have to pay the amount to be topped-up in cash to the operator and the operator will perform a money add transaction.
Money Add via online channels (Debit/Credit/Net banking) - You have to initiate a fund transfer from your debit card linked primary account balance to the card balance using the internet and mobile banking facility. Post successful fund transfer, you have to go to a particular touch point at Metro Station and tap your card against an online card reader. A balance update transaction will have to be done to realize this top-up amount in card balance.
You can check you RBL Bank Prepaid Card balance through multiple channels like Mobile App, Call Centre or Web Portal, details of which are available in the card’s T&C. The balance can also be viewed at any Metro Station Customer Service Desk by placing NCMC card at the card reader.
No, it is not necessary to have an RBL Bank account to get the RBL Bank Namma Metro Card. RBL Bank Namma Metro Card has a separate portal that can be accessed by clicking https://nammametro.agsindia.com/.

You may also immediately block the card through self-service option on the mobile app. If the Card is lost or stolen you can block the Card through the customer care number or online mobile app/web portal. Thereafter, a replacement Card can be purchased at the nearby RBL Bank branch or Bangalore Metro station.
Cash withdrawals from ATMs are not permitted on the RBL Bank Namma Metro Card.

You don’t need to wait in long queues because contactless transactions are super quick and can be completed in less than a second.
The key feature of NCMC RUPAY Contactless Prepaid Card is offline payments which reduces the dependency on network connectivity. Offline payments do not require an online connectivity with the card issuing bank, hence you don’t need to enter 4 digit pin. Card balance is used to make such payments. Offline mode of payments up to INR 2,000 is allowed.
1. Amount loaded in RBL Bank Namma Metro card during any month shall not exceed INR 9,000 and the total amount loaded during the financial year shall not exceed INR 1,20,000
2. Total amount debited from card during any month shall not exceed INR 9,000
3. Stored value maximum amount to be loaded on the wallet for offline transactions is INR 2,000
The upper limit of an offline payment transaction shall be INR 200 and shall change on time to time basis as per the RBI guideline.
Transit fare payment system including Restaurants and other retail outlets wherever Offline mode of payments are made available.
For all offline contactless transactions up to INR 200 and maximum up to INR 2,000, PIN is not required.
Yes, your contactless card is as secure as any other card. It contains a highly secure EMV chip, hence it cannot be cloned easily. You need not handover the card to merchant and you yourself shall tap the card on the term.
If the transaction is successful, terminal/ device will display the message. Also, you may receive charge slip after doing the transaction.
The Card is valid up to expiry date as mentioned on the card.
As a cardholder, you are responsible for the security of the card. If the card is lost or stolen, you should report the loss/ theft to RBL Bank/Namma Metro (BMRCL) customer care centre and get the card blocked permanently. Balance in the offline wallet of the card shall not be refunded back in case of card lost even on intimation to the Bank.

You will not get any interest on the RBL Bank Namma Metro card balance/Wallet Account balance as it is being treated as prepaid payment instrument.
Contactless is a Dual Interface card which supports both contact and contactless transactions, whereas a regular (EMV/Chip card) can only support Contact transactions.
To know if the card is Contactless, you need to check for the contactless indicator published on its front.

- Sign on the signature panel on the back side of the card as soon as you receive the card and keep your card safe
- Never write your PIN on your card. Memorize your PIN number and destroy the PIN mailer
- Block the view of keypad when using your PIN at merchant outlets or ATMs
- Protect the magnetic stripe (black stripe on the backside of the card) of the card
- Insist on the merchant swiping the card in front of you. Accompany the merchant if the swipe machine is placed elsewhere and ensure that the swipe transaction happens in your presence only
- Ensure that your contact details are always updated with the Bank
- In case you lose your card or suspect any fraud, immediately call Customer Care on

Don’ts:
- Do not handover the card or share your PIN with any person, including your close family members / friends
- Do not keep the card and PIN together
- Do not allow anyone else to use your card or enter your PIN for you
- Do not share or store your PIN on email, SMS or phone or write it on the back side of the card
- Do not expose your card to magnetic devices
- Do not share ATM PIN or Prepaid card information over the phone. This includes your card expiry date, 3digit CVV number (card verification value number) and PIN
