HerStory

Turning History into HerStory, because every milestone matters. We feature and celebrate our woman brigade who have been an integral part of the RBL Bank story.

Faizy Khan has been with RBL Bank for over 9 years. Let’s know more about her journey.

Q: From your first day to today - what's the one value at RBL Bank that has remained constant and continues to inspire you?

A: This journey of mine has been nothing but a Mega Blockbuster! From being an Alice in Wonderland, in awe of everything and thinking if I can make a difference, to making people smile with every Fun2sh! event executed in the Bank, yes, from my first day to today, both my life and I have changed for the better.

Q: What's your proudest achievement at the Bank, and how did the organization enable it?

A: Believe me when I say that, especially in the last two years, RBL Bank has given me many such opportunities to be proud of. Since creating a welcome kit for new hires was my first project, I am most proud when I see new joinees happily post about their welcome kits. I received a lot of advice and helpful input from the seniors (My Boss – trust me, who is Godsend!), to make the welcome kit as wholesome as possible. I can go on and on, including winning the first PREET award in the Bank, establishing a Band with our talented employees and assisting them in showcasing their talents, organizing the CEO awards - which is a huge event - and Kids Day every year.

Q: Which aspects of the Bank’s culture have been most empowering in your professional journey?

A: When you approach any senior, irrespective of the department, you get the help and hierarchies are not a tumbling block. Yes, in my opinion, that is our Bank's greatest feature. But, apart from this open door policy, the trust, exposure, kudos and constructive feedbacks have all contributed to my growth into the person that I am truly proud of.

Q: How has the Bank supported your growth both as a professional and as an individual?

A: I started as a Service Manager for Wholesale Banking, before becoming one of the core founding members of the customer care social media channel. Later, when I felt stagnated, I was given Fun2sh! to manage. Ideating and executing Fun2sh! makes each day fun and buzzing with excitement. My coworkers will be surprised to know, I have a major fear of public speaking, and my current role in Fun2sh! is all about that. I think what gives me a courage to stand in front of others is that I know my boss, my colleagues and my seniors are rooting for me. They all want me to succeed in each of my endeavours and that helps alleviate the fear.

Q: Looking back at your journey, what would you tell other women about building a career at RBL Bank?

A: As someone who has been there myself, I can tell you that RBL Bank values skills more than degrees. If you are looking at making a difference, build strong bonds and become a person you are proud of, this is the place for you. I won’t ever say that my journey was smooth and everything was hunky-dory all the time. All I remember are the good things as they outweigh the negatives, and they have all helped me to reach a point, where work is not just work, it’s fun, passion, and excitement every day.
